Here's the VS rear spar, with the lower holes dimpled so that flush forward-facing rivets can be used.

Likewise, the lower holes in the stiffener were countersunk (you dimple thin metal, you countersink thick metal...it's more technical than that, but that's the idea). I used my drill press with the micro-stop countersink cutter.

Just like the HS, the VS skin is clecoed to the rear spar for final drilling. All of this got deburred and dimpled as well.
